Research interests

Currently my research in connection with biomedical engineering is focussed on the follwoing areas:

1-Heart Compression Devices Using Artificial Muscles

2-Robotic Surgery

3-Endovascular Micro-Robots For Steering, Actuation and Sensing

4-Ophthalmological Implants to Improve Vision

5-Micro-pumps Using Polymeric Artificial Muscles for  Drug Delivery and Glaucoma

6-Electronic Regeneration of Severed Spinal Cord

I am also the Director of University of Maine Biomedical Engioneering Laboratory located on the second floor of Crosby Laboratories, College of Engineering.
